The mission of the EDGE Movement NYC program is to actively promote the self-actualization and positive development of young persons of color by helping to instill in them a sense of personal accountability, civic responsibility, and value for themselves, their families and their communities.
We strongly believe in the talents and capabilities of our scholars. We believe that they have the potential to accomplish great things, whether that be finally discovering the cure for cancer, becoming president of the United States, inventing world changing technologies, or leading whatever field they choose to enter. We believe our scholars have the ability to become thoughtful leaders in our communities and to serve as role models for generations to come. We believe that fulfillment of our scholars’ potentials will be greatly enhanced through the guidance of the program’s mentors, accomplished men who are committed to their development and success.
We are a grassroots non-profit (501c3) organization built solely on volunteer mentors, who are accomplished men from diverse professions and perspectives that make the commitment to help guide our young scholars during a crucial stage in their development. We use our own custom curriculum to structure and direct our efforts to advise and counsel the scholars into becoming self-actualized leaders in their fields of interest and their communities.
